The Nevada FORWARD Party is poised to make a significant impact on the political landscape of Nevada. Our goals to continue building momentum and drive meaningful change in the upcoming 2024 election cycle include:
TO GAIN BALLOT ACCESS
Our primary goal is to secure ballot access as an official party, which will occur when the YES on 3 initiative/question is affirmed in November 2024. Then Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) will give us and all Nevadans the voting power and leverage we need to influence the political duopoly away from extremist policies.
TO EDUCATE ABOUT OPEN PRIMARIES
We believe in a democratic process where every vote counts, hence we are staunch advocates for open primaries. The Ranked Choice Voting system encourages a more inclusive electorate and allows for a broader spectrum of candidates, breaking away from partisan shackles.
TO IMPLEMENT INSTANT RUNOFFS/RANKED-CHOICE VOTING
Instant Runoffs, or Ranked-Choice Voting, is an electoral reform we champion. RCV promotes a more fair and representative outcome in elections, ensuring that elected officials have the broad support of their constituents. Ranked Choice Voting will give Nevadans more choices in their political representation, especially around 900,000 independent and unaffiliated citizens.
TO ESTABLISH AN INDEPENDENT REDISTRICTING COMMISSION
To combat gerrymandering and promote fair representation, we aim to implement an Independent Redistricting Commission in Nevada. This commission will ensure that electoral districts are drawn impartially, upholding the principle of equal representation.
Together, these reforms will foster a more inclusive, representative, and fair political system in Nevada, bringing forth a forward-thinking political ethos that truly resonates with the aspirations of Nevadans. Through these initiatives, the Nevada Forward Party is laying down the groundwork for a more democratically robust Silver State!
